The Singapore Kerala Association is the focal point for Singapore Malayalees - an association that gives them reason to be proud of their heritage while continuing to be relevant to their changing aspirations. In 1917, a group of malayalee immigrants living and working in Singapore formed a samajam to send a greeting message to the Travancore Maharaja Sree Moolam Thirunal on his 60th birthday celebration .The association was named "Keraleeya Mahajana Sangham".In 1933 the samajam was renamed as the "Singapore Malayalee Association". In 1961 the name was changed to Singapore Kerala Asociation(SKA).

The samajam’s objectives were to get to know more malayalees, welcome new arrivals and help the needy. They also keep the language and culture alive. They organised newspaper reading, sports, games, meetings, debates, talks, dramas and celebrations on Onam , Vishu etc. .Today, having come under the leadership of many prominent persons, the premises remain the centre of SKA with the aims and objectives; to preserve the language and cultural values, friendship among the malayalees and other ethnic groups of the Indian community, as well as the other communities of Singapore.

The Association  has many activities such as talent time,Onam Queen Contest, Malayalam and bilingual dramas, Onam Village, Children’s day, Onam lunch, Sports, games, picnics, debates etc. It has an active ladies’wing also.
