The
current Exim Policy does not lay down any restrictions on
the export of any goods (including gold jewellery) through
the medium of baggage so long as the goods are bona fide
baggage of the passenger concerned. |

Indian
Currency
|

1. |
Indian
currency notes of denominations upto Rs.100/- , can be
taken or sent out to Nepal and Bhutan. |
| 2. |
Indian
currency notes not exceeding Rs.5,000/- per person can be
taken out by any resident Indian proceeding abroad to
countries other than Nepal and Bhutan. |
| 3. |
Reserve
Bank has granted general permission to any person to take
or send out of India (other than to Nepal and Bhutan),
currency in the form of commemorative coins up to two
coins each. |
| 4. |
No
person shall take or send out of India the Indian coins
which are covered by the Antique and Art Treasure Act,
1972. |
| 5. |
Indian
currency exported or attempted to be exported except
within the terms of the general or special permission
granted by Reserve Bank is liable to be confiscated and
offenders are also liable to punishment. |

1. |
An
authorised person may send out of India, foreign currency acquired in
the normal course of business. |
| 2. |
A
person resident in India but not permanently resident therein may
possess without limit foreign currency, if such foreign currency was
acquired, held or owned by him when he was resident outside India, and
has been brought into India in accordance with the regulations made
under FEMA. |
| 3. |
Any
person may take or send out of India, foreign exchange obtained by him
by drawal from an authorised person as per FEMA. |
| 4. |
Any
person may take or send out of India, currency in the safes of vessels
or aircrafts which have been brought into India or which have been
taken on board a vessel or aircraft with the permission of the Reserve
Bank. |
| 5. |
Any
person may take out of India, foreign exchange possessed by him in
accordance with the FEMA. |
| 6. |
Any
person may take out of India, uspent foreign exchange brought back by
him to India while returning from travel abroad and retained in
accordance with the FEMA. |

7. |
Any
person resident outside India may take out of India, uspent foreign
exchange not exceeding the amount brought by him and declared in form
CDF, on his arrival in India. |

8. |
Any
person may take out of India to Nepal or Bhutan, currency notes being
the currency of Nepal or Bhutan. |

Cheques
|
| |
1. |
Any
person resident in India, may take or send out of India, cheques drawn
in foreign currency account maintained in accordance with FEMA. |
| 2. |
Foreign
citizens in or resident in India, but not permanently resident therein
as also resident Indians maintaining foreign currency accounts abroad
may take or send out of India cheques drawn on their foreign currency
accounts. |

1. |
Goods
including edible items of value not exceeding Rs.1,00,000/- in a
licensing year may be exported as a gift. |
| 2. |
Items
mentioned as restricted for export in the ITC (HS) Classifications of
Import and Export items will not be exported as a gift without a
licence except in the case of edible items. |
