Domestic pets like dogs, cats,
birds etc. can be brought into India by a passenger coming to India
subject to producing an health certificate from an authorised Veterinary
Officer to the following effect:

To the effect that
the pet is free from Aujossky's disease, Distemper, Rabies,
Leishmaoiasies and Leptospirosies.

the effect that the pet is free from Rabies and Distemper. |

To the effect that
the pet was subjected to a compliment fixation test for Psittapois
with negative results within 30 days prior to actual embarkation.

|
For dogs and cats
originating from countries where Rabies infection is known to
exist, a health certificate giving the following particulars
should be produced:

record of vaccination; |
| - |
vaccine used; |
| - |
brew of the vaccine; |
| - |
name of the production
laboration of the vaccine; |
| |
|
| It should
also contain a statement mentioning that the dog / cat was
vaccinated against Rabies more than one month, but : |
| - |
within twelve (12)
months prior to actual embarkation with nervous tissue vaccine; or |
| - |
within thirtysix (36)
months with chicken embryo, and that both the vaccines having
previously passed satisfactory potency tests. |
