Purpose

Travel abroad for medical treatment.

Limit

For patient For hospitalisation Not exceeding the estimate given by the overseas doctor / hospital.
For patient Pre / Post hospitalisation US $ 150 per day for a period not exceeding two months.
For attendant US $ 150 per day for the period of stay of the patient.

Documentation

  • Form TRM 1.
  • Documentary evidence in support of the expenditure incurred on hospitalisation.

Special case

Persons who have fallen ill after proceeding abroad on business or other visits and who are in need of additional exchange towards medical treatment should submit application with a certificate in Form TRM 2 signed by the medical practitioner nominated by the Indian Mission in the country concerned.

 
MEDICAL CHECK-UP/CONSULTATION
Resident individuals.

Purpose

Travel abroad for medical check-up / consultation.

Limit

For patient For check-up / consultation Upto US $ 1000
For patient Pre / Post consultation / check-up US $ 150 per day to the patient for a
period not exceeding seven days.
For attendant US $ 150 per day for the period of stay of the patient.

Documentation

For exchange to be released to the attendant accompanying the patient, a certificate from the attending doctor in India is to be produced to indicate the need for attendant to accompany the patient.
