| Good Shepherd International
School is rund by "Good Shepherd Educational and Charitable Trust", a non-profit
making Organisation. It is fully residential co-educational school run on English Public
school lines with a tradition of providing quality education to all. |

The school is located in the
former Baroda Summer Palace Complex situated at the Fernhill. It is at a distance of 18,
51 and 88 kms from Coonoor, Mettupalayam and coimbatore respectively and is well connected
by road and rail. The direct trains to Mettupalayam are (I) the Nilgiris Express from
Madras and (ii) the connecting Express from Cochin. From Mettupalayam, it is only two hour
journey by road there are regular buses running at frequent intervals. There are regular
buses from Coimbatore also. |

The IGCSE/AICE constitute an
integrated Pre-University curriculum administered by the University of Cambridge Local
Examinations Syndicate,Cambridge,United Kingdom. |

The International General
Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is designed as a two year curriculum programme
leading to a Certificate which is internationally recognized as equivalent in standard to
the British GCSE and International GCE 'O' LEVEL Examinations. The IGCSE provides a
foundation for high level courses such as the North American Advanced Placement Test
(APT), International Baccalaureate (IB) GCE 'A' levels and the Advanced International
Certificate of Education (AICE), which has been designed as a Pre-University Course of
study progressive from IGCSE. The AICE and the IGCSE together constitute a fully
integrated curriculum for students in their last four years of Secondary Education. |

The School has provision to teach
the following as the Second Language.
Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Telugu, Marathi, Gujarathi, and Bengali. French, is
offered as the Third Language. |

| Admission
Procedure |

Enquiries for admission upto Class
VIII of the ICSE stream and ISC can be made on any working day during the II term from
January to May.. The classes for the ISC Plus One usually commences in the first week of
April every academic year,. A fortnight after the conclusion of the ICSE Examination. |

Registration for admission of
students in the school can be made upto five years in advance. The registration for
enclosed in the prospectus should be submitted by registered post with a bank draft of
Rs.2000/-. Registration fee and Admission fee are non refundable under any circumstances.
A Registration Roster is maintained at the school and call letters for admission
test/admission will be sent strictly in accordance with that. Preference will, however, be
given to those who have/had their brother/sister on the roll of the school. |

Registration is must for
considering admission into the school. Parents are advised to register their wards for
admission in the lowest class i.e. UKG. Vacancies normally will not be available in the
higher classes. If a child registered for UKG in a particular year is not offered a seat
that year, he/she may be offered a seat, if available, in the subsequent year in the next
higher class.Registration for the higher classes will, however, be accepted, but this will
not guarantee a seat, as this depends purely on the vacancies available and the child's
qualifying in the entrance test. |

The admission to Class UKG to Std
II will be in March/April every year.The entrance test would be conducted in English,
Mathematics and a Second Language. Students seeking admission in Stds VIII & IX will
have to sit for Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Geography also. Knowledge of Computer
Science is essential. |

or the Photostat copy of it.
b) T.C. showing the date of birth from a recognized school.
c) Passport and other related papers for travel. |

The school has spacious grounds
for all the out door games, volleyball, cricket, basketball, tennis and throwball. In
addition, the students are trained for athletics, gymnastics and Mass P.T. Trained and
professional personnel impart coaching in swimming, rifle shooting and the other field
games. Facilities are now being provided for Golfing and Taekwondo. The Mountaineering
Institute, the only one of its kind in South India has been set up at school and technical
training is imparted to the students of Std IV to XI. There is full fledged liabrary and
audio visual lab. |

Saturday afternoons and Sundays
are slated for special activities and clubs. The school has many full - fledged activity
clubs. They are, first of all the Music club which, in addition to training the students
in Western and Indian classical Music, trains selected students to take the examinations
of the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music, London. |

Other clubs are also quite active
at school. The Dance Club imparts training in classical as well as folk dances of India.
The other Clubs are the Philately club, the Art Club, the Current Affairs Club, the
Literary Club, the Kennel Club and the Interact Club. The Interact Club is patronised by
the Rotary Club of the Nilgiris West and the Club undertakes welfare projects in the
District. |

| Hostel - Hostel facility is
provided to both boys and girls seperately. |

| Food - Well balanced and
nutritious food provided to the students. |

Health care - All the children are
examined in the beginning of each term by the School Doctor and the Dentist. The school
maintains a Hospital for the treatment of minor illnesses of students and staff. |
