Dr.
Janesh Gupta MBChB, MSc, ILTM, MAE,
MD, MRCOG was born in 1963 in Mombasa,
Kenya and moved to the UK in 1975.
He did his undergraduate and Medical
degrees from the University of Leeds
Medical School. He is a Clinical
Senior Lecturer / Honorary Consultant
in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
(O&G) at the University of
Birmingham, Birmingham Women’s
Hospital, which is one of the largest
Women’s Hospital in the United
Kingdom. He was the youngest
Consultant to be appointed in O&G
in the UK at the age of 31.
Dr
Gupta is the Director of the
Gynaecological Minimal Access Surgical
Training (MAST) Unit (http://medweb.bham.ac.uk/mast/) and heads the Regional Referral Centre
for Endometriosis Management.
He is an expert member of the National
Endometriosis Society.
He also
holds the Royal College of
Obstetrician and Gynaecologists (RCOG)
and Minimal Access Therapy Training
Unit Scotland (MATTUS) preceptorship
training recognition for level III
hysteroscopic and gynaecological
laparoscopic surgery. He has a
strong research interest in
Endometriosis and Minimal Access
Surgery (MAS). He also sits on
the RCOG MAS and postgraduate
membership examination (MRCOG)
committees.
He is a
devoted Hindu and believes strongly in
Hindu family values and culture.
He is married to Namrta and has 3
sons: Keshav, Pranav and Vinay. |
