Subrah Iyar is the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of WebEx Communications has wide range of experience in sales, marketing and business. He did his B.S in Electrical Engineering and M.S in Computer Engineering and intially worked for six years tenure at Apple in market development roles. He was successfull in creating the first OS licensing business in the Newton Group.

Subrah was also vice president of sales, marketing and business development at Teleos Research, which was acquired by Autodesk. In 1995, Subrah joined Quarterdeck Inc. as vice president and general manager of the company’s Northern California Internet business division. He was also president of Future Labs, a Quarterdeck subsidiary.
Taking advantage of the rich experience he acquired working with his past employers, Intel and Apple he applied the same to WebEx which he along with Min Zhu founded in 1996. WebEx is the leader in Web Communications Services. It provides Web based carrier class communication services using its multimedia switching platform deployed over global network.
WebEx’s services enable end-users to share presentations, documents, applications, voice and video spontaneously in a seamless environment. WebEx’s services are used across the enterprise in sales, support, training, marketing, engineering, and various other functions. With its modular framework, standards-based APIs and unique MediaTone technology, WebEx is the leading provider of Web meeting services.
To his credit Subrah Iyar was selected the 2002 CEO of the Year award from Silicon India Magazine The award are selected was given by Silicon India after taking into consideration various factors such as their business leadership, technological innovation and community involvement. The CEO of the Year award is an annual Leadership Award that siliconindia Magazine gives to honor the top individual in business and technology.
