Dr.
Vijay Govindrajan who started his profession as a
staff accountant at B.B Naidu & Co and as on
accounts officer at The Delhi Cloth & General
Mills Ltd is a world expert in strategy. He
received his Chartered Accountancy degree in
India. He was awarded the President’s Gold Medal
for his outstanding performance in obtaining the
first rank and did his MBA and doctorate of business administration from Harvard University
and has to his credit number of books and articles
which has been published in International
Journals.
Dr.
Govindrajan was ranked by Management International
Review as one of the top 20 North Americans for
research in strategy and organisation. He was also
acclaimed as one of the "Outstanding B-School
Faculty" by Business Week, and as one of the
"Top 10 Professors in Corporate Executive
Education". His writings receiving the
Notable Contribution to the Management Accounting
Literature Award from the American Accounting
Association; were recognized the Academy of
Management Journal as "one of the10
most-often cited articles;" and received the
Glueck Best Paper Award, from the Academy of
Management.

Tuck, he is the Faculty Director for the Global
Leadership 2020 Program. His area of expertise is
strategy, with particular emphasis on strategic
innovation, industry transformation, and global
strategy and organization.
Prior
to joining the faculty at Tuck, Professor
Govindarajan was on the faculties of The Ohio
State University, Harvard Business School, and the
Indian Institute of Management (Ahmedabad, India).
He has also served as a visiting professor at
INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France), the International
University of Japan (Urasa, Japan), and Helsinki
School of Economics (Helsinki, Finland). Vijay
Govindrajan's current research includes managing
globalization, industry transformation, and
strategic management of knowledge. His areas of
expertise are corporate strategy, globalization
and compensation.
Professor
Govindarajan has served as a consultant to various
global corporations, including Abbott Labs,
AT&T, Champion, Kodak, B.F. Goodrich, GTE,
Hewlett Packard, IBM, JP Morgan, Motorola, Thomson
Corp., PriceWaterhouseCoopers, StoraEnso and
Weyerhaeuser. He has been a keynote speaker at
Business Week CEO Forum, the Economist Conference,
Confederation of Indian Industry Conference, and
Human Resource Planning Society National
Conference. He has been extensively written about
or quoted in the popular press. During
January-February 1998, the global business daily
The Financial Times published four of Dr.
Govindarajan's co-authored papers in a series on
"Mastering Global Business." |
