India's forex reserves rise to $84.9 bn

According to Reserve Bank of India weekly statistical supplement, India's foreign exchange reserves rose to $89.904 billion as against $84.101 billion in the earlier week.

The RBI said the foreign currency assets expressed in US dollar terms included the effect of appreciation or depreciation of other currencies held in its reserves such as the euro, pound sterling and yen.
