Gulf NRIs meeting in August to lure more business

NRI Community in Saudi Arabia will be organising for the first time a 3 day NRI Convention and Festival 2003 in Hyderabad during August 3-5, 2003. This is being organised by Indian Doctor, Architects and Accountants Society of Saudi Arabia (IDEAS), a non commerical and non profit organisation.

The meeting will be inaugurated by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu which will help NRIs from the Gulf to raise their grievances. The major issues that would be raised during the meeting is an idea of setting up a NRI Affairs Ministry on the lines which is in existence in Kerala.

Apart from that Since a major chunk of NRIs are from Hyderabad they would be seeking the government to provide special benefits like seperate reservation for Gulf NRIs and government monitored welfare scheme. An NRI Housing Corporation to give a thrust to the community.

The meeting would see IDEAS felicitate top 10 Gulf NRIs from Andhra Pradesh who have contributed exceptionally in community services.
