Rupee records 23 months high against Dollar

Flooded with Dollar inflows in the past week days and weekend dollar in the overseas market has seen rupee strong with it striking below Rs 47 per dollar mark to close at 46.975 to the dollar. This is comparatively not seen since June 28, 2001.

Dollar which ended last Wednesday at 47.145/15 to the dollar has broke the 47.10 level in early trades but because of intervention of the banks it pulled down to 47.1025/1125.
