World Hindi Conference to honour 25 scholars
Suriname which will be hosting the seventh World Hindi Conference from June 6th will be honouring 25 scholars for their contribution to the language which includes noted journalist Prabash Joshi, poet Kunwar Narayan and for service to Hindi abroad, Ramdeo Dhurandhar, professor Toshiuo Tanaka and Dr Lothar Lutz.
According to the conference secretariat, 10 Indian Hindi scholars will also be honoured in the conference to be held in the Suriname capital. They include novelist Mridula Garg, journalists Ved Pratap Vaidik and Daya Krishan Vijayverma, Dharampal Maini and Shankarlal Purohit.
Also to be honoured are South Indian Hindi scholars, Dr N V Ramgopalan, P Sangivaiya and Tankamani Amma.
Those to be honoured from abroad besides Dr Lutz, Prof Tanaka and Dhurandhar are Prof Subramani from Fiji, Dr Jeet Narayan from Suriname, Dr Ramdas Chaudhary from the US, Prof Azad Samatov from Uzbekistan, Prof Annie Mondaue from France, Dr V Ram Vilas from South Africa, Prof H Rajabov from Kazhakistan, Dr Danuta Stasik from Poland, Achala Sharma from Great Britain, Dr Svetislav Kostic from the Czech Republic, Prof Yen Hong Yuan from China and Dr U Pargu from Myanmar. |
