Indian fair in Trinidad and Tobago in Sept
India in an effort to promote its rich culture is planning to organise a trade fair in Trinidad and Tobago in the month of September. Indian High Commissioner to Trinidad and Tobago, Virendra Gupta said, "On the agenda is an Indian bazaar set for September 5 to 15 at the Divali Nagar Site, Chaguanas"
According to Virendra Gupta the fair will feature 60 businessmen from the private sector in India who will set up stalls. A wide range of products including handicrafts, garments, sports goods and spices will be available.
Gupta pointed out that Indian High Commission was also involved in an on-going project with the Hindi Foundation of Trinidad and Tobago to expand the Hindi programme in schools.
Besides spreading the Hindi language, India wants to expand cultural activities with neighbouring countries having strong Indian presence, notably Guyana and Suriname. |
